Reconciliation

Study overview

God has sent his son, Jesus Christ, into the world to reconcile everyone to himself.

Study Objective

* Colossians 1:19-23
- God, in all his fullness, was pleased to live in Christ because it is through Christ’s death that all are reunited/reconciled to him.
- We know Jesus Christ is the way to the Father (John 14:6), so reconciliation to the Father is through Christ.

* Acts 15:16-18
- When we think all is lost and there is no more hope, God will return to rebuild in us what he first established.
- He wants all his remnants to return to him.

* Ephesians 1:7-10
These mysteries were made known to us as a plan—as what he established from the very beginning—to unite all things in him, things in heaven and on earth.

* 2 Corinthians 5:18-20
- All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation

Key Points

- Reconciliation through the death and the blood of Jesus Christ.
- Jesus is the only one that can reconcile us to God.
- From the beginning (after man sinned) God always wanted reunion with us.
- The ministry of reconciliation was given to believers for the purpose of reconciling everyone to God.

Conclusion

- So, we implore, beseech, entreat, and plead with you on behalf of Jesus Christ to be reconciled to God.
* Come back to God.
